The JazzArts Academy is in full swing this Spring! We are thrilled to welcome over 50 students in our Youth Ensembles + Workshops program and over 20 students in our Nuestro Tiempo Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble this session!

This spring also comes with new additions! We are excited to bring back WeBop, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s award-winning curriculum for pre-school aged children and their parents/caretakers! Also, we are re-launching Jazz in Schools through a partnership with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Jazz in Schools offers general jazz education assemblies and masterclass and coaching residencies.

The spring is a common time for honor band and collegiate music program auditions. Some of our high school seniors have been auditioning for acceptance into collegiate jazz programs such as North Carolina Central University, University of North Carolina Greensboro, Florida State University, New York University, and The Julliard School! Additionally, seven of our JazzArts Academy students were recently selected to participate in the Western Region Jazz Clinic Bands, and many more were selected to be a part of the South-Central All-District Clinic Bands. We are so proud of our students!

Please mark your calendar for our end-of-session JazzArts Academy Spring Concerts on April 28th at The Stage Door Theater. Our Youth Ensembles + Workshops students will perform at 3:00pm and our Nuestro Tiempo Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble will perform at 7:00pm. We hope you will join us!
