The JAZZ ROOM presents Grammy-nominated vocalist René Marie with an evening of musical compositions rooted in the traditions of jazz leading ladies, uniquely exploring the corners of the human spirit.

“Our group, Experiment In Truth, is committed to exploring the nooks and crannies of the human psyche. Songs about homelessness, domestic abuse, depression, addiction, inner strength, family ties, self-determination and positivity are frequently on our set list. We are dedicated to using our platform to keep these topics front and center.” – René Marie

René Marie is a recognizable, fairly unpredictable jazz vocalist who can embody the quirky and playful of Betty Carter one minute, and the bluesy or soulful of Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughn the next. Beginning her career after age 40, she infuses life experience in her music, supported by a fresh, strong and vibrant sound.
