Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist Tia Fuller is recognized as an iconic role model for women. Tia Fuller has toured the world in Beyoncé’s band, performed a concert for President Barack Obama at the White House, and appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, Oprah, and at the Grammy Awards. Leading the way across artistic mediums from essayist to model, Tia made an impact with little girls around the world as the saxophonist behind the music of powerhouse Dorothea Williams, a character in Pixar’s film, Soul. An accomplished solo artist in her own right, Fuller has recorded five full-length projects with her quartet. Most recently nominated for a Grammy Award for her 2019 album Diamond Cut, her brilliance on the saxophonist is a role model for all.
Pianist Shamie Royston is an adept performer known for her harmonically sophisticated post-bop jazz sound. A longtime associate of trumpeter Ron Miles, Royston emerged in the late ’90s as an in-demand player on the Denver, Colorado jazz scene. She has also drawn accolades for her work with the band of saxophonist Tia Fuller (Royston’s sister), appearing on albums like 2010’s Decisive Steps and 2012’s Angelic Warrior. On her own, she regularly leads groups with her husband, drummer Rudy Royston. Together, they issued 2018’s Beautiful Liar.
The JAZZ ROOM provides a casual and intimate setting with tables and a full bar, reminiscent of the classic jazz rooms of yesteryear.
