SEASON 21 of The JAZZ ROOM is Here!

This October, we’re thrilled to celebrate the 15th anniversary of JazzArts Charlotte with Season 21 of The JAZZ ROOM, marking a milestone that reflects our deep commitment to jazz education, live performance, and musician support.

Since our founding in 2009, JazzArts Charlotte has enriched countless lives by creating opportunities for students, fostering meaningful community partnerships, and providing a platform for musicians to thrive. We believe jazz is more than just an art form—it’s a powerful medium for cultural connection, personal growth, and community building.

October 18 & 19
Sasha Masakowski: Sings Antonio Carlos Jobim
Season 21 kicks off with the return of a JAZZ ROOM favorite. Renowned vocalist Sasha Masakowski, and her 6-piece young virtuosic jazz ensemble performs a tribute to Bossa Nova legend, Antonio Carlos Jobim and the music of Brazil.

November 22 & 23
Special Edition: Alumni Weekend
Special Edition: We are excited to present the first JazzArts Alumni Collective, featuring some of the hottest young talent on the scene today. This special weekend will highlight your favorite JazzArts all-star graduates from the past 15 years of the JazzArts Academy. If you thought they were good as students, wait until you hear them now!

December 6 & 7
Holiday Edition: Charlie Brown Christmas (Piano Night!)
Join us for one of the most memorable JAZZ ROOM holiday season celebrations as we feature the music of legendary composer Vince Guaraldi, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. This holiday weekend will feature four of your favorite JAZZ ROOM pianists, playing the music of Guaraldi, best known for Charlie Brown, “Peanuts” television Christmas specials.

January 17 & 18
Chief Adjuah
Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (Christian Scott), is a two-time Edison Award winning and five-time Grammy Award nominated musician, composer and producer. He is the nephew of jazz innovator and legendary sax man, Donald Harrison, Jr. His musical tutelage began under the direction of his uncle at the age of thirteen.

February 14 & 15
Adrian Crutchfield: The Music of Grover Washington Jr.
A Valentine’s Day weekend at the JAZZ ROOM as the Queen City’s native son, saxophonist Adrian Crutchfield performs the smooth sounds of the legendary groove master, saxophonist Grover Washington Jr. Crutchfield and his band will perform music that spans Washington’s career, from his Grammy Award-winning album Winelight to his popular 70’s classic Mister Magic, and more.

March 14 & 15
Camille Thurman: Women In Jazz
In her JAZZ ROOM Charlotte debut, acclaimed saxophonist and vocalist extraordinaire, Camille Thurman featuring the Darrell Green Quartet, will wrap up Season 21 with the sounds of classic jazz including original music from her latest works, in celebration of Women’s History Month.

As we commemorate this special moment, we honor the dedicated educators, talented artists, and invaluable community partners who have shaped JazzArts Charlotte into the vital institution it is today – a pillar in the arts and culture community for jazz education and performance. We are proud of our history and excited to continue looking toward the future.
