Giving Tuesday Goal exceeded

Thank you to those who contributed to a powerful start to the giving season this year, exceeding our $5000 Giving Tuesday kickoff goal! Your support helped to show the importance of music to those we serve, and demonstrated the caring connection of our jazz community.

Highlighting the Value of Music

We have spoken to musicians, educators, students and fans, and while they all have amazing stories of the power of music in their lives, there is one theme: ‘music is as important as breath’ to them. Many musicians have worked diligently to uncover new musical sources of income and ways to make music accessible to their audience. The JazzArts Charlotte “Keep Jazz A-Live-Stream” is one such vehicle. Through our Jazz Online Workshops, students have delved into new genres, new instruments, and new artists. There is one good thing coming out of this experience: we have recognized the importance of music and created new ways to incorporate it in our lives.

Keep the Music Playing goal $15,000

To keep the music playing in 2021, JazzArts Charlotte remaining giving season goal is $30,000. Since the pandemic began devastating the local arts community, JazzArts Charlotte has actually doubled the performance and educational opportunities we offer, employing musicians and educators, while providing the healing power of music online free. These funds allows us to keep filling that gap until the community is finally able to be in person again.

We are grateful for an amazing matching gift – which began for GivingTuesday, and has been expanded across the entire giving season goal. That means that through December, your gifts are DOUBLED. $10 means $20. $100 means $200. $1000 means $2000. Our $15,000 online goal means our season goal of $30,000!

JAZZ ROOM Holiday Edition Benefit Concert, December 18th

To celebrate our contributors, meet this goal, and showcase some of the amazing community of jazz musicians, the JAZZ ROOM continues our annual holiday tradition, this year, online.
This annual event will be as big as ever – we are bringing in the a favorite, Preservation Hall Jazz Band – along with our own JazzArts All-Star Youth Ensemble, and a host of renowned regional and national JAZZ ROOM favorites.

This event is FREE for all to enjoy. It continues to be our mission to eliminate barriers to exceptional music. It is also the culmination of our season of giving, and is our only fundraising event of 2020. By the end of the night, our goal is to raise enough to match our $15,000 challenge gift. If you are unable to give, this show is our gift to you. If you have already given, this show is a celebration together. If you are able, we need you to use this opportunity to show your support for the jazz and arts community.

2021 a Season of Hope

With brighter days in our sites, we have great hope for music in 2021. The creativity and tools we have discovered will doubtless take music in an exciting new direction. But it will take time to get there, and the music community needs our support right now.
