About JazzArts Charlotte®

Mission

JazzArts Charlotte’s mission is to connect the cultural community and develop an audience for jazz through quality education, performance excellence, and musician support.

Vision

We strive to be a catalyst for cultural enrichment and music education that brings creative inspiration to the lives of the citizens of the Charlotte region.

Structure

JazzArts Charlotte is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of educators, cultural arts patrons, students, musicians and individuals dedicated to the continued development of Charlotte’s arts heritage.

The organization provides access for and to world class musicians, ensuring that jazz has a home here in Charlotte.

A Message of Commitment

JazzArts Charlotte was established to connect the community in the spirit of America’s indigenous music, jazz, with an understanding of the challenges that have shaped our current society.

Jazz music has always been a direct reflection of our country, built on the pain and despair of African Americans and their experiences surviving centuries of systematic racism that continues today.

JazzArts Charlotte stands with organizations and individuals who strive for diversity and equality.
