Carlos Henriquez FREE Jazz Youth Workshop

JazzArts Charlotte welcomes Carlos Henriquez for a jazz educational workshop. As a way to deepen the interaction of our national jazz performing artists with the local music community, JazzArts Charlotte welcomes student musicians from the Charlotte area and beyond to learn from this world-renowned jazz innovator.
This applied workshop is open to middle and high schooler musicians, with at least a year on your instrument. All instruments are welcome – you are invited to bring it along.

A Bronx, New York native, Carlos Henriquez studied music at an early age, beginning with guitar, and later bass at a Juilliard School’s Music Advancement Program. Shortly following high school, Henriquez joined the Wynton Marsalis Septet and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, touring the world and featured on more than 25 albums. Henriquez has performed and recorded with artist including Chucho Valdes, Tito Puente, Danilo Perez, Eddie Palmieri, the Marsalis Family, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Marc Anthony and many others. He continues to flourish as a bassist with 3 great projects as a leader including The Bronx Pyramid, Dizzy Con Clave, and The South Bronx Story.
