Jazz at Victoria Yards Summer Series June

JazzArts Charlotte is excited to announce a new outdoor summer series at Victoria Yards in uptown Charlotte In partnership with Charlotte Center City Partners. This outdoor series of shows features a variety of the region’s top jazz musicians, to rock the stage at uptown Victoria Yards. Join us in June for a night with the best of the bass.
Headlining the night will be the John Dillard Group. John Dillard is described by many as the “bassist of the stars” and “one of the funkiest”. This 2 time Grammy Award winning bassist is known for his heart-stopping, spirit-moving, mind bending musical expression. Musicians include: John Dillard on bass, Gena Chambers on vocals, Howard McNair Jr. on keys, and Quan “MoonLyfe” Dillard on drums.
Funk Rush offers an intense mix of old school funk, rock, occasionally reggae and jazz. Borne out of the long-term musical relationship between Scott Newell and Reggie Dennis, together they’ve amassed a unique blend of original and stylized covers. “Jazz is the teacher, Funk is the preacher!”

We’ll also have the JazzArts All-Stars to showcase the future stars of jazz right here in Charlotte. This group includes Gustavo Cruz, Samuel David, Holland Majors, and Olivia Ratliff.
Some chairs will be available – you are encouraged to bring your own if desired. Food trucks will be on hand for all of your refreshment needs while enjoying the music. While subject to change, current food trucks expect to be Koolrunninz, Sandwich Express, JK Cones and of course Resident Culture Brewing Company.
Victoria Yards is located at 408 North Tryon Street, in uptown Charlotte, across the street from Duckworth’s at the corner of N. Tryon St. and 7th St. There is close parking along the street, and in 7th Street Station, and it is an easy walk from the train.
