Health & Safety Policies

We are committed to making sure all of our patrons, musicians, staff and volunteers can do so safely.

JAZZ ROOM & Venue Policies

As an affiliate organization of Blumenthal Performing Arts, JazzArts Charlotte will be following BPA COVID-19 venue policies and safety guidelines throughout the season. To find more information about these policies, including masking, food and beverage consumption, and ticket refunding, please visit the Blumenthal website.

At this time, masks are optional at all Blumenthal venues, and food or beverage opportunities have been resumed in designated areas.  This includes the Stage Door Theater.

Because the environment continues to evolve, for cabaret table tickets and subscriptions, beverage tickets have been removed and considered in our current pricing.

We have also partnered with Roosters Uptown and Merts for discounted opportunities for you and fellow jazz fans to gather for a drink or a bite before and after the shows, and we hope you will enjoy those special opportunities.

If the situation changes throughout the season, we will keep patrons updated within the information regarding each show.

Educational Programs

JazzArts Youth Fall Ensembles + Workshops and Camp are in person.  JazzArts Charlotte programs are small group environments.  JazzArts Charlotte will continue to follow the Governors directives and the lead of CMS in creating policies and procedures that maximize the learning experience and the health and safety of every student.

Virtual Content & Online Programs

We’re doing all we can to bring the best of jazz programs to you no matter the circumstances, and we hope you’re tuning into our Keep Jazz A-Live-Streaming programs. These include Conversations with Curtis and the SET streaming performances hosted by our artistic director, Ocie Davis.  Our full past year of streaming activities is available on demand on YouTube.   Keep Jazz A-Live-Streaming.

We are excited to continue our popular Jazz Appreciation virtual workshops through May, and again beginning in the Fall.  Keep your eyes out for the next series.

Also, find fun ways to enjoy jazz from home by following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with practice tips, movie night and book club suggestions, flashback videos, and more.

Please check back, subscribe to our newsletters and follow us on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter for updates as well as new ways to continue enjoying jazz from your living room.

Office Hours

Our new home in VAPA Center is open on a limited basis.  The JazzArts Charlotte team is diligently working from home, to continue the momentum of jazz in our community in every way we can.  Meanwhile, please have patience as we have limited access to phones and files.

We are committed to offering the highest quality live music performances and educational programs, but we have a greater responsibility of providing a safe space to our audiences, students/families, artists, volunteers, and staff.

What can you do to bring back the music?

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, we ask you to join us in practicing the 3 Ws as needed, outlined by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services:

  • Wait at least six feet apart and avoid close contact when indoors
  • Wear a cloth face covering in confined spaces
  • Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer
