POSTPONED
Welcome back bandleader Billy Marrero and his 12-piece ensemble, Orquesta K’Che, for another explosive weekend of upbeat Latin Jazz and rhythms from Latin America. Bring your dancing shoes.
Latin Jazz
Start with American jazz, add instruments like the congas, clave, timbale, bongos, use them to create rhythms of the rhumba, mambo, samba, conga and bossa nova and you’ve got the essence of Afro-Cuban jazz made famous by people like Mario Bauza, Machito, and Tito Puente and the Brazilian jazz of Antonio Carlos Jobin, Joao Gilberto, Milton Nasciamento and many others. It’s a fusion of American Jazz and Latino Soul for a memorable night of music.
Orquesta K’Che
The North Carolina’s Triangle area Latin dance band Orquesta K’Che [“kah-CHAY”], is the brainchild of percussionist/leader Billy Marrero. When on stage, the eleven (11) piece band, (four piece horn section, five piece rhythm section and two vocalist), will delight the you by projecting the sensuous melodies and driving rhythms of Latin jazz at its finest.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
